The Nature of Things – New Works by Flora Bowley and Paula Smith. Click here for images.
Inspired both by urban and natural settings, Flora Bowley finds purpose in the act of relating objects and colors and allowing stories to unfold in her multi-layered paintings. Using subtle marks and vibrant color, she draws the viewer in again and again, revealing something new each time. The whimsical, functional pottery of Paula Smith tells stories through the use of archetypal forms along with more organic references such as wood, leaves and flowers. She believes that enjoying food is to enjoy the whole experience including the dishes that are handmade as well as the soul of the artist that made them.

Wow, I just stumbled across your website and then your blog and then this exhibition and I wanted to mention that it looks spectacular. Amazing collection of works! I want one of everything…(wishful thinking) Too bad I am way up here in Canada and can’t see the show in person. Looks like you have a lovely gallery…I will look for your shop on etsy too. Take Care and all the best.

I was so moved by Duy Huynh’s piece on this months cover of Skirt! and was trying to remember if he had done a cover previously. Wow, the Lark and Key website is fabulous, and the style of work chosen for your gallery also very ethereal and wonderful…I can’t wait to see the space in person, good luck to you,
