new batch of handmade jewelry from mani designs.

Each piece is created using the lost cast wax process using seedpods, flowers, buds and twigs she collects on her frequent nature walks.

Surfacing

The new year has brought in some very cold air and all I want to do is hibernate. I have, instead, been busy solidifying shows and deciding what to let go of and what to bring in for 2010, personally and professionally. We are excited about the exhibitions and new artists we have planned for this year and just as excited for you to see more of our new space. All of our upcoming shows will be featured in our Southend location but we will continue to show new works in the Noda location as well.

Today has been spent confirming artwork, emailing, uploading and sending out press for SURFACE, our first show of the year. SURFACE, on view from Feb 3rd through March 28th, reflects our physical surroundings, primarily but not limited to landscapes, and how several artists relate to and express them.

Surface is also an important aspect of the artists’ work, whether it be the inherent quality of their medium, the base on which the works begin or the result of the working process. Artworks included in the exhibit vary in perspective and style with mediums ranging from acrylics and fiber, to photography and mixed media, and even human hair. Participating artists include gallery co-owner Duy Huynh, Robin Luciano Beaty, Erika Diamond, Anna Jaap, Carl Linstrum, Jennifer Mecca, Dottie Moore and Linda Plaisted.

Open normal business hours. 11-6 Wed through Sat.

Southend will also be open from 1-5 on Sun, Dec 13th & 20th and 11-6 on Tues, Dec 22nd.

Both locations will be closing at 4pm on Thursday, Dec 24th and at 2pm on Thursday, Dec 31st. We will be closed Friday, Dec 25th and Friday, Jan 1st.
